Through the union?

Most likely.
Are New Jersey principals unionized?
There may be a distinction between representation in employment matters, and representation in criminal matters.
I’m leaning toward no, legal representation is not being provided for Sanchez.

NY Times article indicates that he is being given union representation.

Union representation is not the same as legal representation.
So it was against the rules to keep her from hurting someone else making calling the police his only other option.
We really need another solution

But it can be. N.J.E.A. will provide licensed attorneys.

we need Joe Clark with the baseball bat… it seems there’s a group of people in the community who feel that the mapso school district is their cash cow. It’s ridiculous.

Thanks. I saw that reference to the NJPSA’s general counsel earlier this evening.

The all time best attempt at cash cow... who remembers Alton Maddox, C. Vernon Mason and Al Sharpton at the Tawana Brawley case? Tawana admitted that the charge was fabricated but a lot of contributions came into the legal fund. People learn different lessons from current events.
I'm still trying to learn if the Columbia H.S. student's lawyer is working Pro Bono.
Please don't let this discussion turn into old white people recalling every con ever pulled by a black group. Especially when a clear look at the historical ledger would show something else entirely. As far as the Sanchez case goes, if you read the NYT article you can see that the group behind attacking Frank is not representing the view of all Black families. We have real issues to face and fix. Somehow I can't believe that instantly dividing everyone and recalling every past mistake by everyone is a good start.
I have yet to see a recounting of the "facts" as might be presented in court. If Sanchez sought to restrain the young women, I have to believe he had a good reason such as preventing a fight.

It was a good article. I imagine the Essex County prosecutor will have a hard time getting a jury to convict Sanchez.
I also can't imagine why anybody would want to work in public education anymore. Unless, of course, you enjoy being collateral damage in culture wars.

Donations are being collected for our principal's legal funds. As I recall from when I was a teacher, legal representation or teachers was provided for us if needed.
Is this the case here? If not, I will be pleased to contribute to his legal defense fund.
