Zach Wilson really put on a clinic about how not to perform every facet of the QB game. I was never sold on him and it's now clear to me he is not the QB of the future. Apparently, he is now antagonizing the clubhouse with his failure to take responsibility.
I watched the end of the Jets game and Zach was horrible. The Jets had opportunities to win and they did nothing on offense. How much can a defense do besides hold the other team to three points.

All true. And yet, take a look at Geno Smith to see how having a decent front line and a strong running game can make a mediocre QB into a passable QB. Losing Breece Hall and a few starting offensive linemen has been pretty ruinous to the offense. Yesterday had a few other factors that made the Wilson situation even worse--tough winds that affected both QBs; atrocious special teams play; and some really poor clock management decisions at the end of the game--I mean, it seemed like they were coaching for OT, but then why not take a knee and run out the clock rather than give the Pats the chance to score?
Still, this was a Pats team that was beatable, and the first words out of Wilson's mouth should have been "this one is on me."
maybe because they were largely futile yards but the fact that Jones was 23 for 27 for 246 yards passing seemed to elicit a big yawn in post game commentary. That would have been one of Wilson's best games, if not his best game, had he put those numbers up.
Daniel Jones sucks. Always has and always will. Why they refuse to admit this I could not tell you.
Landeta had The Whiff, Matt Dodge had the inexplicable punt to DeSean Jackson, now add Jamie Gillan with the muff-illegal kick. Oy vey.
(eta: I was at the first two (the first in Chicago), skipped the third due to illness.)

We are seeing peak Daniel Jones this season. There is no more upside.
At this point I believe NY Giants fans will run Daniel Jones out of town. And then he will leave and lead the Detroit Lions to a Super Bowl championship in 2024.

It is interesting to see that Sam D'Arnold squared off against Geno Smith yesterday.
Do or die time for the Giants.
If they win on Sunday they jump ahead of the Commanders and stay ahead of Seattle. This would also ensure a non-losing season. I'm not sure if 8-8-1 would be considered .500 or a winning season.
Then they need to beat the Colts on Jan. 1st. Realistically, the Commanders should only win one of their last three games and the Seahawks should go 2-2 in their last 4 games.
The Lions are the X factor. They have an easy schedule the last 4 games.

The Lions looked awful good last week against a very good Viking team. They are 5-1 since November, and the one loss was to Buffalo by a field goal. As you say, an easy end of the year--Jets (great D, no O), Panthers, Bears, Packers.

I was wrong about Giants fans. It seems there was a tipping point in the last week or so, with a lot of callers and hosts at 'FAN saying the team should re-sign Jones. Obviously not a random sample, but those were the type of people a few weeks ago who were still saying they weren't convinced Jones should come back next year.
I think that to some extent the blowout against the Eagles actually changed some minds. Jones hung tough against a very good team, didn't turn the ball over, and was not the reason the Giants got run out of MetLife (253 Philly rushing yards was).

I don't think Jones is the answer. However, the Giants don't have any other better options right now. I think they should sign him for 1 year or 2 years max and start looking for the next QB. Jones has reached his ceiling.

The Seahawks did their part by losing and the Giants won. However, the Jets could not help us out with the Lions. 1.5 game lead for the last playoff spot with 3 games to go. The Giants beating Minnesota or Dallas on the road is wishful thinking. They must beat Indy and hope the Seahawks and Lions both lose one of their remaining games.
A Nice hot Pastrami Sandwich on Marble Rye > Daniel Jones > Mike White > Zach Wilson > Acid Reflux.

Oops, I meant the Eagles.

may not be that bad for the Giants. Eagles will almost certainly have nothing to play for. Why should they start any player who's dealing with any kind of nagging injury (e.g., Jalen Hurts)
The eagles have not yet clinched the division

Does anyone actually care about the pro bowl anymore? I haven't watched it in maybe 20 years.

Once in a similar situation, I tried to feel out someone I didn't know as to whether they would be amenable to finding a room with a TV for a while to see one game or another. When I mentioned the sport and he referred to a practice he drove by as "rehearsal," I knew I was licked.
