NJ Property Tax extension

Gov. Murphy is to sign an extension today (4/28) from May 1 until June 1st for property taxes due.

An announcement was just made on his daily TV report.

Does this apply to landlords who are expected to hold off from collecting rent for 90 days?

Property taxes are still due on May 1.  What the Governor's order does is extend the grace period from 10 days to one month with no interest incurred during the grace period.

It states that municipalities have the “option” to defer payment until June 1st. Not sure if Maplewood has opted into this extension. Pays to call the clerk tomorrow.

Maplewood has extended the interest free period to 6/1
