Can you get a contactless/wireless charger?
this.
as for repairing - have you tried a phone repair place? they might be able to fix it.
It's possible there is some lint in the port. Take a toothpick and carefully clean the inside of the port.

yeah. canned air could be a help too.
is this an android or iphone?

I was just going to suggest cleaning the port. You would be surprised how much stuff accumulates in there.
I’ve never had a port on any phone go bad. Charging wires yes, but never the ports.
Could it be androids? Because it’s only one way to connect the wires? iPhone are so much easier, especially for the older folks.
the latest android ports, usb-c, are much better, but yeah, the micro-usb ports on older phones could be a problem. I was always amazed that they lasted as long as they did.
I had this issue recently with an iphone8 - I ended up upgrading. The new plugs seem to connect better. I wonder is the genius bar would have had a solution. In the meantime - I did use a wireless charger.

I find the apple charger wires are the best to use instead of the other cheaper ones.
My Pixel 3 had it's charging port bit the dust after about a year and a half. Tried canned air, dental picks, liquid cleaning, had two repair shops try cleaning it out as well, nothing worked. Thankfully it has wireless charging, so I haven't had to replace it yet. I wouldn't buy a phone without wireless charging, the small extra cost is worth the insurance against having to get a new phone so soon.

Hi
Anyone have their cell phone's charging port ware out? Happens to me with any phone I have after about 18 months careful use. I try 3 or 4 different charging wires with the same result. I'm with Verizon for 20 years. They don't repair charging ports. What is your experience and advice. Many Thanks

what model phone is it? we can check to see if it's repairable.

Those white Apple charging cables are the ones that break for me - at/near the phone plug. (I like the ones with fabric cords. A good brand of charging equipment is Anker.) I have had four iPhones (since Verizon started supporting them) and never had a problem with the port.
