COVID impact on the brain -- new basic science research

This was really not what I wanted to see today... evidence in a peer reviewed top-quality journal that COVID creates protein sequences that can form amyloid structures (potentially analogous to those in Alzheimers, although much further research is needed).  Just another reason why COVID simply isn't "just the flu", I'm afraid. Note that this is a "test tube" study, so we don't yet know the implications in patients, but I find it worrying (having not dug deep into the technical detail, since I trust Nature's peer review process!).  https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-022-30932-1

I was speaking to a co-worker today who had COVID in the fall. He says he still deals with "brain fog" as a result of his illness.  He also has some other issues that his doctors are checking out.

it's a sorry thing to see that happening so much. Thanks for the article, Susan.
