A will should be quite easy. Living options, my own service preferences, trusts, etc. ... not so much ...I've realized that the baggage that comes with growing older (evaluating Sr. Living options, making the most of savings and Social Security, making GOOD choices rather than working with a blindfold, and health challenges to boot) is much more complicated than this Music Major should try to take on alone.
The "Alone Factor" plays a big role: Divorced, two kids in their 30s -- one lives far away, one's local and tries to help, will have Power of Attorney, but is also not trained in the ways of modern finances and has a busy, stressful life already. No immediate family as an option. Even the dog just died.
Have relied on my stockbroker, but he's firm about only talking Market investments. That still leaves a big hole.
Any recommendations for a Certified Financial Planner -- not bottom of the barrel, but not more than I can afford -- who can help me through the NEXT stage of life? I'm familiar with "A Place for Mom" -- used them for my own mom, but 15 years ago. They've not been very responsive, but I think I called too early in the process -- too many ifs and unknowns then -- not so much now.
Feel free to private message me. Thanks in advance.
